Kaishun is a collaborative pianist with a passion for song and chamber music. She recently completed her Master’s degree with distinction at the Royal College of Music, she received an offer for the Artist Diploma programme on her final year of her Master’s study, where she studied under Simon Lepper, Roger Vignoles, Julian Jacobson and Howard Williams. She has been praised for her instinctive musicianship, professional artistry and reliability.
Kaishun began her musical journey at the age of five in China, later moving to Japan at 16. She earned a bachelor’s degree in music from Kunitachi College of Music before taking a ten-year break to work and support her family. Kaishun resumed her studies in music with a renewed determination, bringing a wealth of life experience into her work.
At the RCM, Kaishun has worked on productions of opera scenes including Imeneo and Fidelio at the Britten Theatre. She has supported singers in reaching the finals of the Basel International Lieder/Song Vocal Competition (Tokyo, 2025) and the Brooks van der Pump English Song Competition. She has also participated in masterclass with Markus Hadulla, Pauliina Tukiainen, Roderick Williams and Dame Sarah Connolly. In 2025, Kaishun was accepted into the RCM’s Professional Engagement Service, which includes performance opportunities at distinguished venues as well as private client engagements.
In 2024, she was honoured as a recipient of the SongEasel Young Artist Program.
In addition to her studies, Kaishun teaches and mentors young musicians across South East England, many of whom have achieved top prizes in music festivals and competitions. She has performed at notable venues such as the Westminster Libraries and Archives, St James’s Church Sussex Gardens, Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall, Austrian Cultural Forum, Lauderdale House and St. James’s Church Piccadilly.
Kaishun is known for her resilience, dedication and deep commitment to collaboration. She continues to refine her artistry as she works toward making a lasting impact in the world of music.
